Merrily Cassidy/Cape Cod Times

Foremost among them is Chapin's Bayside, an exceptional establishment renowned for its superb oysters and libations. With an impressive array of wines and beers, coupled with Massachusetts' finest oysters, Chapin's Bayside consistently delivers a delightful culinary experience. The quality of their cuisine is consistently remarkable, complemented by the warm and affable demeanor of their staff. It is my preferred venue for unwinding alongside friends and family, basking in the serene waterfront ambience while delighting in delectable fare and well-crafted beverages.

When seeking a light repast without committing to a full-fledged meal, I frequently find myself drawn to the Mercantile, renowned for its delectable sandwiches and accommodating late-night hours. The Mercantile offers a wide assortment of sandwiches, as well as an enticing selection of salads and soups. For those seeking a swift but satisfying bite in Dennis, this establishment stands out as the premier choice.

Personal Favorite: Ham & Havarti Sandwich

The subject of ice cream in Dennis poses a challenge, given the abundance of exceptional parlors vying for attention. While no definitive ranking can be assigned, it is worth highlighting two noteworthy establishments. Cape Cod Creamery, a Cape Cod institution, consistently delivers exemplary ice cream, although their cones hold a special place in my heart. Not only are they delicious, but their generous size also lends itself to easy sharing among friends. Cape Cod Creamery can be found in Dennis and Yarmouth, serving up delightful frozen treats. Another local gem, the Ice Cream Smuggler, situated at the intersection of Route 6A and East-West Dennis Road, offers a diverse array of flavors and an irresistible soft-serve option. Despite its compact size, this establishment impresses with its remarkable variety and reasonable prices. Additionally, throughout the summer, the Ice Cream Smuggler presents an enticing selection of ice cream sandwiches, adding to its allure.

For a heartier culinary experience, I highly recommend partaking in the renowned seafood fare at Sesuit Harbor Cafe, which boasts an exceptional lobster roll among its offerings. Moreover, its idyllic location on Sesuit Harbor provides an enchanting backdrop for outdoor dining, allowing patrons to savor their meal while taking in the breathtaking view.

Alternatively, those seeking an equally memorable dining experience can venture to the Marshside, conveniently situated alongside the marsh. Here, one can relish a splendid view of the sunset and moonrise while savoring delectable offerings ranging from burgers and sandwiches to a delightful array of seafood. The establishment's expansive outdoor deck offers a captivating setting in which to appreciate the weather and savor a leisurely meal. Should you desire a more casual and laid-back atmosphere, The Otherside comes highly recommended. This establishment excels in crafting delectable pizzas that prove perfect for either lunch or dinner.

Walking along Crowes Pasture presents a picturesque opportunity to traverse the ORV Trail, affording glimpses of the enchanting oyster beds. Should this not align with your interests, I encourage you to visit Chapin Beach, a mere stone's throw away from Chapin's Bayside. This scenic location offers a splendid vantage point from which to observe breathtaking sunsets, particularly during low tide.
